India: Chinese #hackers spreading #virus through HC replica websites?

Chinese hackers may be using websites similar to those of 19 high courts in the country to spread computer virus which can convert the user's system into a virtual zombie, a security expert has claimed before the CBI. 

Commander (Retd.) Mukesh Saini, former naval officer who is a cyber security consultant, brought the nefarious designs of these alleged hackers to the notice of Cybercrime wing of the CBI recently, which is looking into it.

#Cyber attacks reveal that #Facebook and all systems open to #hackers

The Internet security firm McAfee has produced evidence that no computer system now in existence cannot be hacked. Also, what's been revealed as "hackers in China," have opened the computer security doors "to more than 70 governments, corporations and public and private organizations in 14 countries," stated an Aug. 4 PBS report that "shocked" computer science experts here at the University of Oregon in Eugene. In turn, the a PBS expert noted that "I do know that McAfee has been briefing Congress, the White House, other executive agencies. And I received a statement from Sen. Feinstein, the head of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, expressing her extreme concern after reading this (McAfee) report."

#Anonymous antics spark #hacker feud at #DefCon

Hackers bent on derailing Anonymous clashed with members of the notorious group at a DefCon gathering in Las Vegas late Saturday.

"Hubris" and "Asherah" of startup Backtrace Security condemned Anonymous for "bully behavior" and argued that the group was trying to pass of reckless opportunism as Internet-age activism.

Are We Too Late to Catch Up? Analysis of the WH #Cyberspace Policy

President Barack Obama directed a 60-day comprehensive review be conducted of the nation's cyber

security policy and procedures as they relate to national security and securing critical infrastructure.

The review team was comprised of a cross-section of cyber security experts from government, academia

and industry. Their report, Cyberspace Policy Review: Assuring a Trusted and Resilient Information and Communications Infrastructure was released with recommendations that outline a new way forward

toward building and protecting a reliable and secure national digital infrastructure.

 

It comes as no surprise that the review panel reports that the federal government is woefully under

prepared for the daily onslaught of cyber-attacks this nation faces. The American people have

been reading headlines that the Chinese government has been stealing our national secrets via

cyber espionage for years. Now it seems you can find stories in the news about how post-Eastern

bloc cybercriminals are raking millions from U.S. citizens every day. The government seems almost

overwhelmed to the point of paralysis with how to handle the problem. Despite a handful of high

profile arrests, hactivist groups like Anonymous continue to take down the websites of the CIA and the

FBI with ease.
