A Joint Select Committee has made 13 unanimous recommendations to amend proposed legislation that
The committee pressed for stronger protections over telecommunications and internet users' data. However, it stopped short of calling for the proposed changes to be scrapped.
The Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Bill pushed telcos and ISPs to preserve "stored communications and telecommunications data", such as "computer data", email, and SMS messages.
